Fabian Hempel

Fabian Hempel is currently a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Bremen, supervised by Uwe Schimank and Sina Farzin. He obtained a B.A. in German Linguistics/Literature and an M.A. in Modern South and Southeast Asian Studies, both from the Humboldt University of Berlin. His research interests include Social Studies of Science, Cultural Studies, Social Theory, and Political Sociology. In line with his work for FMS, his dissertation project focuses on the cultural conceptions of the autonomy and social responsibility of science as they are manifested in science novels. In addition, he is a doctoral research fellow at the Universität der Bundeswehr München.
